So, we have been doing EC with our son since he was 3 weeks old. It has been one of the best things we could have ever done. He knows when he needs to go, and as long as we’re paying attention to his signs, we are able to get him to the bathroom. Granted, we have our “off” days, but overall, Axel does really well.

Despite how many times I say this, though, there are still the skeptics out there who don’t believe infant potty training is actually possible. Luckily, I’ve found a way to eliminate this problem. We’ve made a video. Please, see for yourself, infants can be potty trained!

It’s easy for us, as it’s just another part of life, but I’ll admit, it doesn’t work for everyone. You’re doing well, though, by even starting as young as 2. That’s unusual these days! (It’s okay to wait, I’m just saying it’s rare not to.) Isn’t it interesting how kids don’t need words to get their points across? It’s the neatest thing! Thanks for the comment!
I never heard about EC until becoming more active on BBC but in many ways i wish I had been able to implement it earlier now that my son is 2 and we’re ready for him to use the toilet. He doesn’t talk (not a delay as much as ‘normal boy’ development) but can still communicate in his own way that we understand. We’ve been introducing the toilet as he’s always been invited in the bathroom so we’re trying to get the idea into his head but I must admit this would have been much easier had he been used to it earlier on!
I’m admittedly not patient enough to work on EC, and thus simply haven’t with either child. I personally find that picture adorable, though, and I’m still trying to figure out why people are so perturbed about your foray into EC. They don’t realize or think about the fact that people in other countries NEVER use a single diaper and do this all the time from day one without considering it as an alternative option! I say, more power to you, and I’ll be watching with interest to see how your experience continues.
Thanks! I need all the support I can get after yesterday! People can be so cruel!
The world would be quite boring if we were all the same, don’t you think?! I think I’ll stick to being me.
I just watched the video, that was so cute! I noticed your siggy on BBC and you mentioned people leaving mean comments and such. Bastards! Lol. Just wanted to show you a little support
