Our wedding anniversary is coming up, and I’m excited to say that we are going to enjoy the afternoon at Raw Bliss Cafe in Dallas! We are beyond excited, especially since Axel will actually be able to eat the food along with us! (We’ve had problems in this area since we are still eating cooked, and he’s all raw.) Anyway, I want you all to prepare for my upcoming review. I can only hope that it will be a good one.

Wish me luck!

P.S. – I planted a mess load of organic seeds in little peat moss pots, and almost all of them have sprouted. We have about 125 heads of romaine lettuce, beets galore, cantaloupe, big and small watermelon varieties, thyme, and a few other things. I am so excited about them. Who knew growing your own food could be so fun?

Hey!
I was wondering since Axel is completely raw, what does he eat? How do you think eating raw has impacted him? I am very interested in raw living and would love to start heading in that direction. I’m trying to see if anywhere in Houston has a raw food place. I love reading your blog.
Keep it up!
Well, right now he is still nursing all day/night, so a the majority of his calories are from my milk. Besides that, though, he is obsessed with avocadoes, which have a lot of healthy fats, which I believe is important especially for young children. He also eats sunflower seeds (soaked, rinsed, and then mashed, although the other day he grabbed a bowl off the couch and I found him eating them whole- whoops!) He really likes organic peaches, as long as they are ripe. He really won’t eat fruit any other way. (Which, I wouldn’t want him to anyway.) He eats green smoothies a lot with us, occasionally some fresh juice, mixed with a little water. He loves bananas, but they tend to constipate him. (It’s not that bad, though, as long as he stays hydrated and eats a lot at one time, which tends to “move things along.”) He eats a variety of other fruits as well, and he loves all the raw veggies we give him. Zucchini, squash, cucumber… we cut off the tougher edges and let him eat the centers. (We eat the other parts
He also chewed on a carrot for about 4 hours yesterday. Just make sure to watch you baby closely if they don’t have any side teeth. Axel only has his front teeth, so I am really cautious. Many times I’ll just chew a little carrot and then give it to him. Hope this helps!
Oh, and he is the most energetic little things ever! At the same time, he’s very focused. When he wants to do something, he figures out a way to get it done. Also, I use to nanny and every one year old I ever watched had bad breath in the morning, without fail. His breath smells extremely fresh and sweet.
Plus, he likes raw foods. He also likes mono eating (one thing at a time), which I’ve heard is the best way to eat, and have experienced myself. We went to a raw restaurant the other day, and we let him taste our food. It was very flavorful, and full of different ingredients. He would not eat it. He is so in tune with his instincts that he just rejected it, knowing his body wouldn’t want it. Also, besides organic beans and rice, if I eat any other cooked food (wheat, potatoes, etc…), he does NOT like my milk at all. He will just turn away. Let me know if you have any other questions!
thanks! =)
